πŸ—οΈGenerating API Keys on Hyperliquid

Getting Newsly connected to the on-chain exchange Hyperliquid

What is Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid is an order book perpetual futures decentralised exchange (DEX). Hyperliquid does everything centralized exchanges (CEX) do, but on-chain.

With a decentralized exchange, you are able to self custody your assets on-chain, and access symbols or pairs that may not be available on centralized exchanges.

Whilst there are a few order book exchanges now becoming available, Newsly selected Hyperliquid for a few important reasons:

  • Wide selection of symbols, suitable to capture the vast majority of news trading.

  • Open to improvements and suggestions from integration partners.

  • Rapid execution (20k orders/second), good liquidity.

  • First mover in granular permissions for on-chain exchanges.

An important reason for Newsly selecting Hyperliquid, is they are the first exchange to provide an API based approach to DEX trading. Existing DEXs require the person making the trade to hold the private key of the account, meaning users assets are exposed to the platform. πŸ” With Hyperliquid we pushed the team to add unique Agent API Wallets such that Newsly can make orders on your behalf, but we have no access to withdraw or move funds.

As you can have as many accounts as you want on Hyperliquid, it makes an excellent starting point when beginning to trade with a service such as Newsly. You can deposit as much or as little funds in the account as you wish, there is no KYC to slow you down when setting up, and you can easily withdraw funds back to a different account or a CEX if you need a different level of liquidity as a larger trader.

We think that unless you're planning to make use of our integration with Mirrorly (using their service for copytrading), and you don't already have a CEX account, setting up Hyperliquid is the fastest way to get started.

Getting Setup

To set up you’re going to need a Hyperliquid account that is funded with USDC from Arbitrum. In order to deposit assets to Arbitrum you can use a Bridge or withdraw funds from a supported CEX direct to on chain.

Then you will need to authorize Newsly to use the account, by adding your bot generated unique Agent API Wallet to your Hyperliquid account.

Finally paste your Hyperliquid wallet address to the Newsly bot and set up is complete.

Lets get started. πŸ”½

Setup Instructions

Use the bottom keyboard to click 'πŸ‘€Account' then select 'Connect Hyperliquid via Chain', this will start the Hyperliquid setup process.

If you don't see the bottom keyboard menu, there may be a square with 4 dots to open it, if not you can send command /showkeyboard to refresh the menu.

1️⃣ Step 1 - Create your Hyperliquid Account

Creating an Hyperliquid account, if you don't have a Hyperliquid account, create one with our link which connects you to our referral, saving you 4% on trading fees: https://app.hyperliquid.xyz/join/NEWSLY

If you have one already you can attach our referral code NEWSLY using the Referral Section, however it is good practice to create a new Hyperliquid account so you can keep your news trades isolated from your existing trading approach.

2️⃣ Step 2 - Authorize Newsly

The Newsly bot will give you your unique Agent API Wallet which you need to add to Hyperliquid.

Everyone has a unique Agent API Wallet, do not use the one above.

An important reason for Newsly selecting Hyperliquid, is they are the first exchange to provide an API based approach to DEX trading. Existing DEXs require the person making the trade to hold the private key of the account, meaning users assets are exposed to the platform.

πŸ” With the unique Agent API Wallet, Newsly can make orders on your behalf, but we have no access to withdraw or move funds.

Click the API Settings link, and add the Agent API Wallet to your Hyperliquid account. Enter NEWSLY for the API Key Name, and paste your Agent API Wallet, then click Authorize API Key. Use your wallet to sign the prompted message allow to add this agent, this will not send a transaction.

Don't click Generate, use the Agent API Wallet provided by Newsly.

3️⃣ Step 3 - Complete Connection

Now we have our Hyperliquid account reffered and our Agent authorized, we can try to connect.

Paste your Hyperliquid wallet address to the Newsly bot, and we will connect to Hyperliquid.

πŸŽ‰ Once you've successfully connected your Hyperliquid account. Proceed by clicking 'Settings' and proceed with configuration.
